I recently bought the Sonia Kashuk 15th Anniversary brushes and decided to share what I do to every single new makeup brush I purchase. So, yay for a new post! And yay for new brushes!
This is the brush set
I'm not sure if this set is still available, but its great if your just starting out with brushes. They are very affordable and great quality!
Side note, I love the red box! I have no idea what I'll use it for but I'm definitely keeping it!
First, grab your hair conditioner (you can use whichever one you currently have in your shower not this specific one)
This was my little set up, the sink is on the left side of this picture
Wet your brush with warm water and be careful not to get any water above the metal part (called ferrule)
Squeeze a dollop of conditioner and coat the bristles
(please ignore the cuts on my hand, Luna really didn't enjoy bath time. Cats and water, go figure)
I tend to do them all and lay them out so the conditioner gets a chance to do its thing
Then rinse them very well in the order they were conditioned
Lay them out flat to dry completely
Voila! Soft and beautiful brushes!
When I first got into makeup and started using brushes I came across a video or article (don't remember which it was or by who it was) about doing this to brushes to soften bristles and increase the lifespan of them and have been doing it ever since.
Hope this tidbit is useful for some!
Love and blessings,
Gaby
